Transformation of Oxford-Cambridge Arc with Government’s Support - Innovation & Enterprise Services

The UK government announced a policy paper this week that sets out the government’s planned approach to developing the Oxford-Cambridge Arc single Spatial Framework, including a timeline for delivery, its high-level scope, and how the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government will work with local partners and a single growth body to deliver it.

Inspired by the success of the #MidlandsEngine and #NorthernPowerhouse, the #Arc sits at the heart of England and covers five counties of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

By physically connecting the economic powerhouses of #Oxford and #Cambridge, completing the “golden triangle” of prosperity with #London, the Arc promotes the region’s economic strengths on a global platform.

The University of Bedfordshire, part of the Arc Universities Group, welcomes this coordinated, collaborative approach and we are looking forward to working with national and local Government, the Arc Leadership Group, LEPS, industry and the local community to shape the vision for the region.
