Help to design our baby elephant for Keech’s Big Trunk Trail
Keech Hospice Care is celebrating its 30-year anniversary of caring for children and adults with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. This year they are saying thank you and raising support by starting a fantastic public art event called ‘The Big Trunk Trail’. We have purchased our very own baby elephant to support the cause, and we need your help to design it. We are asking you to help design our elephant, ‘Bedz’, which will be showcased around our campuses.
We are the educational sponsor for the event and will be working closely with The Big Trunk Trail to develop our relationships with key schools and help to develop events for school and educational organisations like The Level Trust. The events take place this summer and include a two-week safari themed summer school for children living in poverty in Luton.
We are sponsoring two elephants ‘Artie’ and our baby ‘Bedz’ who will be appearing around Luton and the University. ‘Artie’ is being designed and painted by local artist, Amy Bourbon, who has already got to work bringing Arty to life.
For ‘Bedz’ we are inviting all of you to help us come up with a design that will showcase ‘Transformation’! Submissions are open to all colleagues, your family members and our students. So, if you or someone you know has a flair for creative design, we want to see it!
We have a template for you to complete and you must think about a design for both sides of ‘Bedz’. Completed designs can be scanned or photographed and sent to the Access and Outreach Team at access@beds.ac.uk by no later than close of play of Friday 16 April. Three designs will be shortlisted with the winning design chosen by our Vice Chancellor, Professor Rebecca Bunting.
You can download the 'Bedz' template on the link below this notice.
In addition to supporting The Big Trunk Trail we are also taking the opportunity to become part of the fundraising team for Keech. We are aiming to raise £1000 by the time the trail ends in September. If you would like help get us to our target you can donate through our donation page here.
