Nominate a distinguished individual for an honorary degree
The Academic Board would like to invite staff to nominate distinguished individuals for an honorary degree. These are prestigious awards and a recipient of an honorary award should be an individual who has made an outstanding personal achievement in any field of endeavor, and with whom the University is proud to be associated. Please therefore think carefully before making a nomination.
Nominees for honorary degrees of the University must meet one or more of the following criteria: individuals who have high external profile in fields which are related to the subject areas the University teaches; individuals who, though perhaps less high profile, are very distinguished in the University's main subject areas; those who are distinguished by reason of their philanthropy, or who have provided the institution or the locality with distinguished service over a period of time, be they Governors, volunteers, or members of the business community; individuals who might be considered as role models for the University’s students, or to particular student groups.
To make your nomination, please complete and return the ‘Honorary Award Nomination’ form by Wednesday, 13 April 2022 to me at nim.nijjer@beds.ac.uk. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
