Foodbank for Students
Community and Faith at Luton and Bedford are Foodbank Referrers.
This means we can welcome your students in need to our multi faith and belief chaplaincy centres and arrange to give them foodbank vouchers or obtain a Food Parcel for them.
At the same time we offer Pastoral Care (emotional, social and spiritual support), a hot or cold drink and attentive listening. We work in partnership with our colleagues in Student Money Advice to ensure the student receives budgeting support and sometimes other financial help, for example, Access to Learning Fund.
LUTON
We find that students can sometimes be embarrassed to collect from the Foodbank Distribution points, so we offer to fetch their parcels for them to pick up at Treehouse. If a student is distressed, rather than them having to find their way to us alone, we can sometimes come and meet them if we have someone available. We also hold Emergency Food supplies to last a student over a weekend in case of need.

BEDFORD
We are able to give students vouchers to exchange for food at the Foodbank and can go with them to collect the food. We hold an emergency food supply in case of urgent need. For more information please contact me, Cass Howes, on 07920849742 or by email cass.howes@beds.ac.uk
