In many cases, if the University has asked you to work at home, you will be able to claim tax relief on up to £6 per week for any full weeks where you do not come into the office.
The tax relief is offset against the tax you are due to pay, so if you are a basic rate taxpayer, it would reduce your tax bill by £1.20 per week and if you are a higher rate taxpayer, it would reduce your tax bill by £2.40 per week.
