With a busy period ahead I wanted to give you a summary of all the events on offer, please do support where you can and support the hard-working committee staff members putting all this work in to educate & support all.

Rainbow Office Hours are an opportunity for you to talk to an LGBTQ+ member of staff, although you do not have to identify as LGBTQ+ yourself to attend. Rainbow Office Hours are drop-in and will be in the strictest of confidence. You can discuss anything LGBTQ-related or just have a chat. You are invited to meet Alex Baird (She/Her) at Costa Coffee, Bedford campus between 11 and noon.

Our staff LGBTQ network and our student LGBTQ network are really keen to be involved in local community projects and to support local organisations as all strive for a safer & more accepting world.
We are hosting this networking event and invite any like minded LGBTQ or supporting organisations to join us.
At this informal event there will be an opportunity to talk about your own organisation and to hear about other organisations.

15 June - Coffee Morning Luton Celebrating Pride, 10.30-noon

21 June - Staff Training - How to be a good Ally Luton 10.00-12.00

This session for staff will consider what makes a good ally to any under-represented group but with a focus on the LGBTQ community.
We will look at how to contribute to maintaining a supportive workplace environment; language, terminology, stereotyping and assumptions in relation to LGBTQ people. The session is suitable for any staff who is a member of the LGBTQ community or seeks to become a better ally to friends, family and colleagues.

24 June - Pride in Luton

The University is proud to be supporting Pride in Luton 2023.
The event runs from 1pm until 7pm with a main stage in the Hat Factory area.
Some of us (staff & students) will be around most of the day but we have arranged a meeting point:
We will meet as a group at 5pm outside the Easy Hotel and walk down together to the busy Hat Factory area.
Everyone is welcome, join on your own or meet a friend but it would be nice to spend some time together.
Stay for what suits you - all evening or just 5 minutes. Look for us & our flag outside the Easy Hotel.

11 & 12 July - Disability & LGBTQ Network : Discussion around Neurodiversity & Identities
We are organising two informal staff events (one in Luton and repeated in Bedford) for the Disability and LGBTQ+ Staff Networks to come together. Everyone (both network and non-network staff members) are very welcome to join.
