BREO update - starts Friday 13, 4.30pm to Monday 16, 1.30pm
Just a reminder that the Digital Learning team (David, Adriana, Jon and Nivi) will be making BREO unavailable from 13 December 4.30pm (UK time) to Monday 16 December 1.30pm (UK time).
This information has been distributed to Deans, Heads of School and other key service users. We have also advertised the change on the front page of BREO to all staff and students.
Why are we making BREO unavailable?
BlackBoard who manage the hosting for BREO on behalf of the University will be moving our hosted system to a cloud-based service. This is part of a long term plan to deliver a newer version of BREO. We need to ensure that we freeze all of BREO's content so it can be transferred safely. All of our existing content will be transferred into the newer version of BREO and there is nothing specific we need colleagues to do.
Will I see any difference immediately?
The changes are nearly all behind the scenes, but you will notice cosmetic differences: a logo change on the gateway page, in-unit menus will have a simpler colour scheme, and text and other items (such as in the Full Grade Centre) should look neater.
Changes to the Gateway page of BREO - August 2020
In the summer before the start of the 2020-21 academic term we be changing the Gateway page of BREO. The tabs we currently use will move to the left hand side of the screen.
