Free NHS Covid-19 asymptomatic testing now available to staff
You can book to have a free NHS Covid-19 Lateral Flow antigen test at our Bedford or Luton campus.
Colleagues may have seen we have opened two sites, in the Sports Hall at Bedford and on the ground floor of the PG Centre at Luton, for students to take asymptomatic Covid-19 tests. This is in support of the national programme for students to be tested for the virus before travelling home during the December break. This is now open for staff to book too.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the health and wellbeing of our staff and students has always been the top priority. Taking a Lateral Flow antigen test means you can make arrangements to travel secure in the knowledge that there is a reduced risk of transmission to your families, friends and communities.
Lateral Flow Testing on asymptomatic individuals will show you do not have Covid-19 at the time the test was taken. The tests don’t guarantee that you would not catch the infection.
It is recommended you take two tests three days apart. You can book these tests here: www.beds.ac.uk/covid19test
The testing centres are open 9am to 5pm every day until 9 December.
We have included some Frequently Asked Questions on our website here to try and help you to understand how you can get a test, how the testing works and other essential information. Please read through this carefully.
