Deadline for Beds Talks proposals extended.
Dear colleagues,
The deadline for submitting proposals to host a Beds Talk has been extended to 31 August 2019.
We encourage and welcome submissions from all academic areas, and it is important to note, Beds Talks do not have to take the form of a traditional talk.
For example some of our most successful Beds Talks have included: a live podcast debating the future of radio; a community evening focused on improving health and wellbeing through physical activity; and a daylong session aimed at helping the parents and carers of children with autism.
What’s important is that Beds Talks are open to the public, free to attend and designed to bring together the public with our researchers and practitioners on topics of mutual interest.
Funding for events:
Colleagues can bid for up to £1,500 to support the delivery of a Beds Talk, in collaboration with our Corporate Events team and Communications team. Funds may be spent on speaker expenses, refreshments, event publicity and activities to support engagement in the event, and space will be provided at no cost. Funding is available for up to six Beds Talks during 2019-20.
Proposal form:
For more information and to submit a bid to run an event during 2019-20, download the proposal form here and return it to Rosie.Munro@beds.ac.uk by 31 August. Rosie can also offer technical advice in advance of submitting a proposal.
Best wishes,
