Induction Buddy & Mentor Scheme

The buddy and mentor schemes are an integral part of induction as they help employees who are new to the university or new to their role to get an understanding of the University culture, routines, expectations, and cultural norms.

The roles of the induction buddy and the mentor are different so, you may need to have both an induction buddy and a mentor. The induction buddy relationship is short-term (approx 3 months) and focuses on practicalities, such as tour around the department/campus, use of systems, lunch, and University processes.

The mentor relationship lasts longer, approximately 1 year and focuses on helping you to develop and grow in your role.
