New starters to the University undergo a 12-month probationary period which includes face to face reviews with their line manager on a regular basis.
The Probationary Year booklet and 1-2-1 form provides guidance and a platform to record your discussions. It covers progress made on job performance and opportunities to discuss any support required to develop your skills and knowledge.
Our New Staff Induction takes place at the Putteridge Bury campus and provides new staff with an opportunity to network with other new members of staff, find out about the resources available to staff and talk to key departments in the University.
Colleagues will also have an opportunity to meet with the Vice Chancellor and learn about the University's Vision, Mission and Values.
Target audience: New members of staff who have joined the University on a permanent contract less than six months ago.
This course is generally not suitable for staff who have been with the University for longer than six months or who have previously worked with us on other contracts (visiting etc). If this applies to you and you would like to discuss your needs, please email staff.development@beds.ac.uk
To book onto the induction please log into iTrent self-service, careers and development and then search courses.
