The University has been an Investor in People (IiP) since 1994 and we were successfully re-accredited with Investors in People in July 2011. We are committed to the IiP standard and use its principles and practices as our framework for best practice and to continuously improve our organisational development.
We asked to be assessed against all 196 evidence requirements of the Investors in People framework and met 176 of them resulting in us being recognised at Gold level. This puts the University of Bedfordshire in the top 6% of all Investors in People organisations in the UK.
Achieving IiP provides recognition for the University's good practice in people management and development. In higher education, we are currently in a significant minority of universities who have achieved the award at this level. This demonstrates the importance we place on staff engagement, people management and our strive for continuous improvement.
The IiP standard provides a framework to help organisations understand how effective they are at involving and enabling staff in the development and delivery of organisational aims. It uses the 'plan, do, and review' quality cycle so that continuous improvement and effective feedback are at its heart. IiP does not dictate how we do things and is more concerned with outcomes.
