We wanted to give you a way to recognise and celebrate the hard work and effort of fellow colleagues, and particularly where it perhaps doesn't always get recognised. These awards are run by staff, for our staff, and provides an opportunity to give a well-deserved shout out to the unsung heroes and the stars in our midst that you feel deserve some appreciation. To celebrate colleagues across the University the ‘A little thank you’ section of the fortnightly newsletter, @Beds, recognises staff who make a positive contribution and meet our values.‘A little thank you’ gives all staff the opportunity to show appreciation to colleagues they believe to be the lynch pins of our organisation but who often get overlooked for the recognition that they deserve. There is no competition involved – all you need to do is drop a note to internalcommunications@beds.ac.uk with a sentence or two explaining why the member of staff deserves a thank you for making a positive contribution to one or more our values. Each ‘little thank-you’ for that fortnight will be featured in the following issue of @Beds.
Long Service Awards are given to those colleagues in recognition of 10 and 25 years continuous service. Staff will receive a £100 cheque upon reaching their 10 year anniversary and a £300 cheque on their 25 year anniversary. All staff receive a certificate which is presented at the staff summer party.
