Bed Stars is back! We are extremely pleased to welcome back Beds Stars for 2026 – join us for another celebration of the fantastic colleagues who make working at Beds so great. So put in a nomination and shine a light on anyone who has made your day.
We know that there are many unsung heroes within our University who deserve to be celebrated for the little things they do every day, and that is what these awards were made for.
So, nominate far and wide, and let us finish the year celebrating each other and our achievements.
Nominations close on Friday 6 November 2026.
Do you have a colleague who is innovative in their approach to work? Is there someone who brightens your work day? Do you know a colleague who has gone above and beyond to help out? These are our Beds Stars, and now is the time to celebrate them.
To keep the nominations simple, we have put together six categories which are represented by just one word. Along with a helpful description to help you match up your nomination with a category.
The categories are:
With the Beds superstar being chosen from our other winners.
All you need to do is choose your category along with your name and the name of the person you are nominating as well as a few sentences as to why that person is a Beds Star.
We ask that colleagues do not nominate whole teams in Beds Stars. We understand that you may wish to recognise an entire department, but we would encourage you to nominate individuals within a team as it is not possible for teams to be assessed under our judging criteria.

These awards are run by staff, for staff. A group of committed colleagues who are passionate about the staff experience have come together to champion the Beds Stars. Winners will be chosen in line with the University’s values.

We will announce our winners at a special Bed Stars event on the Ground floor, PG Centre, on Tuesday 8 December. All are welcome to come along, to cheer on your fellow colleagues and spread some cheer before the Christmas break.

Good luck and we look forward to receiving your nominations.
