There are many different reasons why colleagues may need or want support. This could be in their personal or professional lives; it could be a one-off topic of concern or an ongoing matter.
At the University of Bedfordshire we know staff wellbeing is of the utmost importance, and we want to provide support.
Our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is open to all colleagues as well as their family members who are over the age of 16 and living at the same address as the employee. This service can provide:
This service is secure and confidential, working with an independent company Wellbeing Solutions Management.
Colleagues have access to a 24/7 helpline which provides confidential counselling and advice on matters related to personal and professional health and wellbeing. The service is completely confidential, with no personal information being passed back to the University.
Accessed mainly through telephone counselling , the programme is also designed to help manage stress related issues and allow staff access to practical advice and information as well as legal advice and debt advice, similar to the Citizen’s Advice Bureau.
In addition, there is also advice specifically for managers who are supporting staff with wellbeing issues.
The Freephone helpline number is 0800 328 1437
Support and advice can also be accessed through employeeassistance.org.uk
The access code is UoB
