Happy Vesak

We'd like to wish a very happy Vesak to all of our Buddhist colleagues.

Vesak is one of the most important Buddhist festivals and celebrates the birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha. 

Vesak is a global celebration that is marked in many different ways across different Buddhist cultures. Traditionally much of the day is spent visiting local temples and engaging in chanting and meditation, doing good deeds and sharing food with others. Some countries also mark the day with parades, the releasing of paper lanterns and participating in the 'bathing of the Buddha'. A ceremony where water is poured over the shoulders of the Buddha to remind people to clear their minds and let go of hatred and greed.
