The new mark entry portal has been developed as part of the Assessments project as part of the wider SITS Change Programme (SCP). The project team has evaluated how assessments are processed in SITS currently, any gaps in our academic regulations, our assessment policies as well as any opportunities for improvements in system operations and business processes.  

The programme has executive leadership and is governed by the Data Governance Group and the Student Systems Governance Group. It is sponsored by Ruth Bourne, (Registrar and University Secretary), with Jo Coward (Academic Registrar) as operational sponsor. The programme also provides reports to the Infrastructure Investment Board, VCEG (Vice Chancellors Executive Group) and regular updates to the University Board of Governors. 

 Mark entry in SITS/e:Vision ensures we adhere to our regulatory and statutory compliance obligations and mitigates GDPR risks that arise from the transfer of student information through transmission methods such as email.

The improvements will also provide the foundations for further system and process improvements, including exam board preparation and operation, progression, and awards, as well as provide a sound basis for future improvements in developing a 2-way marking interface linking SITS/e:Vision and our VLE and digital assessment provision as resource, time and funding permits. 

Live training is available until the 3 July 2024. Specific sessions are available for Academic and Professional Services colleagues and are mandatory for anyone with a remit for mark entry. Please book your place on iTrent.

Our live training sessions being held until the 3 July 2024, allow plenty of time for questions, and colleagues are welcome to attend multiple sessions. Drop-in sessions will also be held once the new tool is live.
