The Transformation Programme focuses on two core areas:
Bringing in more students, creating new opportunities, and building a stronger future.
Simplify processes and reduce unnecessary complexity
The programme will initially focus on six priority projects:
This project will develop and launch new courses that meet current and future market demand, to help the University grow student recruitment, diversify income streams and strengthen the University's academic portfolio.
Academic/ Transnational Education (TNE) partnerships
This project introduces a disciplined approach to approval of new academic & transnational education partnership, delivering University of Bedfordshire degree programmes in the UK and overseas through trusted institutional partners. It supports global growth by expanding our international and UK footprint, strengthening our brand, and creating sustainable new income streams.
Local Undergraduate (UG) Competitiveness
This project develops a clear, evidence and data drive approach to understanding why students choose local competitor universities over Bedfordshire, at an institutional and subject level.
It supports stronger home recruitment by enabling targeted improvement to improve conversion to acceptance of offer, and therefore long‑term sustainability.
This project will deliver a clear, market‑aligned PG proposition that meets the needs of working professionals and students, demonstrates demand with a defined target audience, and removes barriers to flexibility. It will sharpen the relevance and clarity of the offer, strengthen marketing and recruitment, and position the portfolio for sustainable growth from September 2027 onward.
This projects scopes improvements across the full student journey, from first enquiry through to graduation. It aims to streamline processes, create a more consistent, digital‑first, and compliant experience that enhances student satisfaction and progression outcomes and delivers continuous improvement.
This project sets out a clear, university‑wide framework for how artificial intelligence will be used responsibly and strategically across the institution. It ensures AI adoption aligns with our digital strategy, regulatory obligations, and ethical standards while supporting long‑term sustainability and consistency.
