UNISON represents members in all the public services but divides its membership into "service groups" for the purposes of negotiating for the terms and conditions of members within a particular type of employer. We are part of the Higher Education Service Group.
The employers' organisation is called UCEA. UNISON, together with four other unions in HE, meet frequently with UCEA to negotiate pay, and other terms and conditions.
Pensions is another area where UNISON negotiates nationally. This time not with UCEA, but directly with government representatives.
