Thank you to everyone who took part in the recent Staff Survey. An incredible 75% of colleagues took part, representing colleagues from across the University and giving us a clear and representative picture of your experiences to help inform meaningful action.
The survey was conducted on our behalf by People Insight, independent survey specialists with extensive experience across the higher education sector, who also supported us in analysing the results and identifying the University's key themes.
In the interests of transparency, the full survey results are available for all colleagues to view. Just click the image below to download.
You can also take a look at our Staff Survey 2026 Results Summary Infographic [PDF], which provides a two-page top line overview of the results.
A summary of the results was presented at our Staff engagement Forum on Monday 6 July. If you couldn’t attend, you can watch the recording below.
The conversation continues!
The Staff Survey provides a baseline from which we will measure our progress year on year. While we can't address everything overnight, we are committed to listening, taking meaningful action and keeping colleagues updated on our progress. We will be realistically ambitious, working to overcome financial and practical constraints wherever possible so that we can deliver meaningful improvements in staff experience over time.
Now it’s time to turn your feedback into action.
Once the results are shared, action planning will get underway. Between July and September, every directorate will work with their teams to identify one to three local priorities and develop action plans. Colleagues will have opportunities to contribute to these local discussions and help shape the actions that matter most to their teams.
We recognise that some issues can be addressed locally at Directorate, School or Faculty while others will require action at institutional level. Our action-planning approach is designed to bring together team-based priorities with the wider actions that need to be taken forward across the University.
Here’s the timeline:
We'll regularly share updates on the progress we're making and the actions we're taking at team, Directorate, Faculty and institutional level, so you can see how your feedback is helping to shape positive change across the University. Please keep an eye on your email and the staff intranet for the latest updates.
