This page outlines our plans for keeping everyone safe on campus following the ending of all legal Covid-19 restrictions.

Latest advice and Guidance

We are regularly monitoring the advice from UK Health Security Agency (formally Public Health England) and Department for Education to ensure that we are following and adhering to the latest guidance regarding living with Covid-19.

What to do if you have Covid-19 symptoms or test positive:

We want to protect our University Community, especially those that are vulnerable. 

If you have symptoms of Covid-19 and do not feel well enough to go to work, try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until you no longer have a high temperature (if you had one) or until you no longer feel unwell.

You are no longer required to take a lateral flow test if you have symptoms. However, if you have tested positive, please stay away from campus for at least five days and work from home if you are able to. Otherwise, please follow our normal sick leave policy.

The Government guidance states ‘Most people with Covid-19 will no longer be infectious to others after 5 days. If you have a positive Covid-19 test result, try to stay home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days after the day you took your test’.

We also strongly encourage everyone to continue to carry out the normal infection practices we have all got used to over the last few years.

Advice to those of you who are clinically vulnerable

Although there is now no requirement to shield for anyone who may be clinically extremely vulnerable, if you are concerned about your health risks, you should discuss this with your line manager in the first instance who can liaise with our occupational health team to make any necessary adjustments to allow you to work safely.
