Our role is to provide advice and guidance to help you look after yourself, your team, your students and the wider Beds community. Health and safety should be part of the way we work, so we all need to understand how people can be harmed from our work, teaching and research activities and what we need to do to prevent harm. The Health and Safety team can also advise on the University’s and your legal obligations to ensure a safe working environment.
In conjunction with the People and Culture Staff Development and Training Team (who arrange and deliver a large variety of corporate training), the Health and Safety Team can provide guidance on specific training requirements, including Fire Warden, First Aid and a number of other specific safety-related courses, as required by those in areas of specific risk.
