I started out as a magazine journalist but ended up developing a career in PR and public affairs. I have worked both agency side and in-house - but in-house is where my heart lies – where you can completely understand the organisation and believe in what it stands for.
I joined the University first as Media Relations Manager and now as Head of Communications. I am responsible for media relations, internal communications, public engagement, corporate events, and reputation management including crisis communications and Vice-Chancellor communications.

I joined the University in January 2021 as the Communications Officer. Currently, I help to manage staff and student communications including creating content for the fortnightly @Beds Newsletter and monthly Beds Lowdown Student newsletter. I help craft the University's internal messaging making sure that all of our colleagues and student are up to date on the latest University news and events.
I graduated from Coventry University in 2017 with an Undergraduate degree in Journalism and Media. After University I worked at Costa Coffee for a time helping with their social media management before travelling to the Falkland Islands to work for the southernmost TV station in the word as a Broadcast Journalist. During my time in the Falklands, I was lucky enough to be able to cover a wide range of stories within a unique local community and meet more than a few Penguins! I’m excited to develop my career in education and so far I am greatly enjoying my time at the University.

I started working full-time at the University of Bedfordshire in April 2022.
In my role, my responsibilities include drafting press releases for the University’s news page, managing our Press Office social media channels, and looking after our media monitoring. I also liaise with external media outlets and journalists to host them on campus and share all the exciting things that our staff, students and alumni are getting up to!
I also work on corporate events for the University, which include Vice Chancellor-led events, staff forums, public lectures, and awards ceremonies. As part of this, I also write the copy to advertise upcoming events and design various visual assets to help with our promotion.
I graduated with a degree in Journalism from the University of Bedfordshire in the summer of 2021.

I joined the University of Bedfordshire in 2007 as a Secretarial Administrator to the Vice Chancellor. In 2017, my role developed to External Relations Officer for the Communications Team under the Vice Chancellor’s Office, where I am responsible for ensuring the University is responsive to its communities and stakeholders.
I oversee the management of our University Court and facilitate a programme of civic engagement with both regional MPs and the local authorities we are connected to. I ensure our key stakeholders are actively engaged through various channels including a programme of regular published updates and invitations to our schedule of corporate events. I also manage and coordinate the hosting programme for all of the Vice Chancellor’s VIP guests throughout our graduation ceremonies, serving as the main point of contact for those receiving Honorary Awards from the University, Guests of Honour, keynote speakers, donors and patrons.
Prior to joining the University, I worked six years for Her Majesty’s Courts Service, working my way up through the organisation from Courtroom Usher to Personal Assistant for the Courthouse Senior Management Team.
I thoroughly enjoy my role in at the University as it gives me the opportunity to meet and engage with a wide variety of people.
