Free parking in line with Luton is only available to a few certain groups of car park users which are referred to as Guests. These spaces must be strictly managed according to the process below.
Guest parking spaces must be requested 3 days in advance by emailing bedfordreception@beds.ac.uk to allow for a decision to made and communicated back.
Any user arriving without a pre booked and authorised space will be refused free parking and asked to pay the daily charges.
Process
The reception will query any requests they are unsure of to Estates & Facilities, who will advise if they are approved or rejected and will then communicate this back to the requesters. Once the approved guests arrive on site they must report to reception. They will be passed the tablet to enter their own registration details into. Please note reception staff will not enter their details for them as any errors may result in parking charge notice.
All users of the rehabilitation clinics, sport therapy session and community exercise clinics etc will get free parking but we must start to get a list of booked users each day sent to reception in advance. We will also request that users bring their booking emails with them or show them on their phones when booking in at reception as a backup
Users who are not on the list will generally have to pay for parking, however if there is a clear and obvious error and a visitor come to reception and is clearly part of one of the list of allowed user groups below but reception have no details of them, they will allow them to register their vehicle as a guest on the tablet so that they will not receive a parking charge notice and we will follow uyp with the sports department.
Receptionists have been asked to query any situation that is not clear with facilities so that we can clarify the position whilst the user is at reception.
Users who should receive free parking
Visitors we expect will pay to park
